Reaching out to the public to foster engagement with and support of your work is one of the most important investments you can make. With limited budgets, however, marketing roles are all too often absent, with these much needed dollars going directly into the services you provide. I’ll work with you to develop marketing strategies and plans that support your goals and advance your mission, and train you and your staff on how to execute this work.

A campaign is different than a marketing strategy. A campaign focuses on a singular theme or idea designed specifically to engage targeted audiences with your work. We’ll focus on who you are trying to reach and how you hope they’ll respond, to create an innovative and effective marketing campaign that helps you meet specific organizational goals.

It’s exactly how it sounds. You need to stand out and make a difference. I’ll come to the table with ideas. Big ones. These ideas could be for marketing, programming, operations, leadership, engagement, or any piece of your work. Or it could be the whole shebang. Be prepared, Big Ideas can be scary, and while I won’t hold back from bold ideas, we can scale them together to meet your comfort level.

You know why you think the public should engage with your work, but that doesn’t mean they’ll agree. We’ll dig in to who your desired audiences are and develop strategies for engaging them in ways that piques their interest. We’ll identify the intersection between your work and their interests to create opportunities to bring them deeper into what you do.

Speaking of public engagement, do you offer the communities you serve any public programs to engage with or celebrate your work? This can refer to activities, events, and initiatives that excite your public and bring them more deeply into your mission. Maybe it’s a First Friday, concert, performances, demonstrations, workshops, lectures/symposia, art exhibitions, or whatever else we can dream up together. Just not galas. I don’t do galas!

The secret to effective partnerships? They have to be mutually beneficial for all parties involved. The best partners are aligned in values and mission, and actually like working with each other. Nonprofits can do more with less when they work with other likeminded organizations. For profit businesses can benefit in countless ways by teaming up with a nonprofit: cause marketing opportunities, showing proof of concept through an artistic and/or noble venue, and, well, sleep better at night knowing that your work is helping make the world a better place. I’ll be your matchmaker, making your match, finding your find, and catching your catch to a collaborative and mutually beneficial working relationship.

I’m not a visual artist, but I work with lots of them! Whether working with your in-house graphic designer or one of my cadre of talented illustrators, photographers, and visual artists, I will develop high-level concepts and unique aesthetic directions to ensure your visual identity aligns with your brand and messaging, ensuring a cohesive look and a strategic approach to achieving your goals.

Social media has made audience engagement easily accessible and targeted advertising affordable, but only worth the effort if you use it effectively. I’ll give you the tools to create effective social media posts and ads, and show you how to make the best use of your limited marketing budget.
